correct me if i am wrong?

Apparently the literal meaning of photography is art of producing the images of an object on a photosensitive film. Yesterday, i was checking out some websites on photography, cameras and photo contests and realized ofcourse all the pictures were taken by DSLR. Out of all the pictures i would have seen, i would say most of it was photoshopped to enhance the colour, saturation, sharpness, contrast, noise, colour balance, filter; You name it you can adjust it.

My question is what is the originality in the picture? are'nt you supposed to capture what you see? and not edit what you capture!!!!!

I do not mean that it is not real they actually look very impressive, but it looks superficial at times. Things in the world are not perfect and you got to see the beauty through its imperfections.
"Correct me if i am wrong?" about what i just wrote and I seriously appreciate your thoughts and comments :)

By the way i do not have anything against DSLR or Photoshopped pictures, its just a question / doubt which passed throught my thoughts when i was restless ;)

  1. I agree completely with you . Beauty of the photography lies in its freshness and originality.
The stunning photographs you saw on many of the blogs and websites are faked, computer enhanced .Photography , just like a painting , has to be genuine. I shoot pictures as a hobby and i don't want to manipulate it for the sake of appreciation from others. What is the point in it ?
